iguidance not working with MTK gps

Hi,
I just installed my first CarPC, and I have some trouble getting GPS working. I have a 32 channel MTK USB gps thingy. It gets installed as a serial port. It has a test application (Heavensea something or other) and when I run that it seems to be doing something, i see a lot of satellites and whatever.

But with iGuidance 4 nothing happens. It basically starts up with an address where I was earlier (probably when I last ran the test program), and it doesn't update at all. There are no errors or anything. The port settings are correct.

Any ideas what might be happening? Should i try to run both the test application and iGuidance at the same time with XPort or something?

Edit: It was a configuration problem, Centrafuse's Nav was also opening the port even though I wasn't using it (and have no maps for it). It works now!

BTW where abouts in MA are you? I am in Norton, MA bout 5 minutes up the road from the Comcast Center (formerly Tweeter Center.)
