iGuidance 2009 license backup

I purchased iGuidance 2009 software for my carpc and I'm paranoid Windows will go corrupt one day, or the hard drive go bad. Transferring the license off the hard drive may become an impossible task at that point and then I'm SOL as we know iNav will make you go buy their product again. True you get two licenses, but I'm already using the second license on my notebook already.

So what have people used to backup their carpc hard drive so that the license is included in the backup? I'm considering using Norton Ghost to create a backup as it includes a forensic fingerprint copy option. Not sure if that option is even necessary as I'm pretty sure it will create a massive backup image.

So what backup strategies are you guys using?

I use reflect. It is free and works well. I have restored several images with it and it has never let me down.

I never heard of reflect before and it looks very good.

Did you use the default "Intelligent sector copy", or "Make an exact copy (clone)"? The latter choice is similar to forensic copy and will make a large image, so I'm hoping you did it successfully with the default "Intelligent sector copy".

I'll give it a try in a couple hours.

"Intelligent sector copy" - doesn't keep iGuidance license in tact, so no good.
"Make an exact (forensic) copy" - gives me a blue screen of death crash half way through.

I used my desktop computer for burning a linux rescue CD that macrium recommends, and now it has problems shutting down windows XP. Can't even uninstall the software, oh well no big deal, I'll just reformat my desktop and reinstall windows again. Hopefully it won't bugger up my carpc if I try to uninstall it.

I'll give Norton Ghost forensic mode a try.
