Infill T3 static noise (Fixed, Problem solved)

I just installed Infill T3 with StreetDeck. I notice a static in the background constantly, regardless of what's playing from the computer or StreetDeck. The music and radio sounds good from StreetDeck. However, the static seems to be independent of StreetDeck, because I hear it whenever the T3 is turned on. I didn't find anybody mentioning it, so I don't know if it's T3 sending out the static, or something wrong with my wiring. There are no loose wires and I attached all ground wires to the chassis.

Your probably hooking it up to speakers that don't support speaker level outputs. This is usually the case with premium stock sound systems like those from BOSE. You possibly will need something like this for your car to fix the voltage. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-h2VqjWp...51&I=142C4NN03 Of course there are also several other things that could also cause static, like ground loops.

I have factory speakers without premium sound. However, the sound with StreetDeck Radio, Music and TV sounds perfect. Actually the Infill T3 with SD sounds far better than my factory radio previously. Only when there is silence, the static is apparent. I'm going to first try unhooking the harness and redo the wiring.

I also am having problems with getting sound from my T3. The install instruction specify not to use the speaker wires if I have an amp, although I can't run the composite cables into the factory amp. But, If I hook up the speaker wires to the harness, I get no sound and if I connect the Amp Power wire to the harness all I get is static. Am I doing something incorrectly, or would I benefit from picking up one of those Nissan/Infinity adapters?

Is there a downside to using one of those adapters over replacing the Amp?

I have completely redone the speaker portion of the wiring with a brand new Scosche wiring harness custom fit for my car, but static persists.

What are other possible causes of the static? I've tried unhooking the powered TV antennae and the radio antennae, but the static is the same. When I play music, radio or TV, the sound can't be more crystal clear. There is no distortion from the speakers. Only, when there's a silence, the static becomes noticeable. I've also tried grounding the top and bottom unit directly to the chassis of the car using an 18gauge wire, but to no avail.

Did you ever figure this out? I am having the same problem. I am guessing I need to shield the speaker wires in case they are picking up interference for the power lines.

Speaker wire is high voltage, power line is low voltage.

There shouldn't be any interference.

I guess that brings me back to why am I getting a "buzz" whenever the T3 is on and the car is running. and the buzz frequency tracks the engine RPMs (higher RPMs, higher the frequency pitch). I only hear it when the engine is running and nothing is playing on the unit.

I have everything hard-grounded to the vehicle chasis.

I'm still working on it. I've purchased American International's Xterminator power line noise filter. But I haven't put it on because bigjoe22 had a problem of burning something in the unit with a noise filter, so I got scared and waiting for his feedback. Also, I don't know exactly what type of noise filter he's using and if it has eliminated the static.

Anyways, I contacted Infill and they said that in Korea, depending on the type of static, they use power line filter, and/or RCA noise filters (ground loop isolator) for the buzz. So this problem is not just me or you, but quite wide spread. So I don't know why some people has this static and some don't. Maybe it just has to do with the car or maybe some units are just born with it.

But I know for sure the static is either from the supplied power plug or the T3 unit itself, because recently I took T3 out and put my factory radio back in and it sounds perfect without static.

So I'm doing research on ground loop isolators/ RCA noise filters. Maybe using both power line filters and RCA noise filters will do the trick.

Thanks for the feedback IR...

I was considering moving all my external grounds (video camera ground, etc) behind the infill noise filter. My guess is it's a ground loop of some sort. I was also thinking I should cap all the exposed rca connectors.

Would nice to hear from someone who maybe solved this issue?

Forget my previous idea, I am going to start with disconnecting my wiring harness ground and connect directly to the chassis along with the rest of my grounds.
