Infill T3 Questions
I'm looking to purchase the T3 hardware only, can't afford the G4.
However I don't see many install pics?
Can someone please post some links to install pics, I'd like to see how it looks indash.
I also don't see a dedicated forum for the T3, why is this, are there not many out there?
I have a Subaru Legacy B4, I have 3DIN spaces available, I'm sure the T3 will fit however what I'd like to have is some sort of double DIN door that hides the T3, now this could be something I pull off before using or slides down? Are they any products I could use to do this? I would rather not fabricate one.
A picture of my dash is here, http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/1040642-post8.html
thanks

I agree. I've been searching and searching these forums for more info on T3. I think there should be a forum just for Infill T3.
I've recently installed my unit, but then I had some trouble. While researching the forums, I found out I could upgrade the hard drive and RAM. So I took out the unit and dismenbered the whole thing and am now in the process of upgrading both.

The Infill T3 is being replaced by the G4. It has been phased out.
When you are lookig ot purchase the hardware only T3, this is stated on the auction and on this web site.
The store and the company are not going to be supporting the T3.

Possibly in the next week or so.
I'd imagine that support maybe ending however, if I purchase streetdeck may get some support out of that.
Anyway that is what a forum is for, a section on Infill would be good. I'm sure you have heard of the empeg? The support for that continues via forums even though the hardware and company have been obsolete for 3 years!!

RedGTiVR6, are you saying that mp3car store and streetdeck will no longer be supporting the T3?! Does this mean that any future releases will not be tested on the T3 and that no more bug fixes for that particular hardware will be developed...my unit is less than a year old and I have lived with some bugs with streetdeck and the hardware with the anticipation that they will eventually be worked out.

We still test on and develop with support for the T3 in mind and will continue to do so until at least 2008.

Thanks for that, a sigh of relief since I just made my purchase of the T3.
Obviously I should purchase Streetdeck lite since I am in NZ, can this version be upgraded with the latest updates?

Yes, there is only 1 version of streetdeck and it works for all platforms. THe only difference for the T3 and G4 are some additional files and these normally aren't touched by the updates.

Cool, Can the T3 be powered via mains, i.e. does it come with a power adapter for mains? So I can set it up etc before installing in the car?

No, just like every other head unit on the market, it does not come with a method to hook it up in the house.

I use an old power supply(from a laptop, lcd panel, etc)...its rated at 13v DC 1.2amp. I even tested with one that has less amps and it works. As long as you dont crank up the audio you are using nominal amps so any 12vdc supply with 750ma or more will work. If you use a supply that doesnt have enough power the unit will warn you that your battery is low and will attempt a shutdown.
The power supply in the infill is made to run off of varying voltage/amp due to the fluctuations in a car so you dont have to worry too much. Just don't go over 14vdc for your test power supply and you should be good.
Dont waste your money on a sofisticated power supply unless you have other use for it.

Are you sure? It's rated to output 8.5Amps @ 12V?!

in that case I stand corrected... I somehow thought it needed at least a 150w power supply
