T3 screen resolution and Infill Station

Because I had so much issue with StreetDeck on my T3, after the memory and HDD upgrade, I've installed Infill Station, the front end that comes with T3 in Korea. Whew, it's like a whole new machine! Except for the static, it's still there.

First, the resolution automatically switched to 800x600, and it looks so much better than 640x480 before with StreetDeck. I didn't even know that 800x600 resolution was meant for T3. Before installing Infill Station, the only choice I had in Windows setting was 1024x768 or 640x480. Had I not installed Infill Station, I would not have known that I was running sub-optimal resolution.

Second, the radio reception is better than before with StreetDeck. Third, even the TV reception got better.

While the screen interface in radio and music is not as good as StreetDeck, Infill Station is much quicker and much much more stable than StreetDeck. I'm still playing with it, but it has not crashed or caused a single error yet.

Are other T3 owners out there been running StreetDeck with 800x600 or 640x480?

Neither resolution is meant for the T3. You should be running at 800x480. Every other resolution will result in scaling.

StreetDeck and Infill Station use the same software to tune the radio and TV, there should be no difference in reception.

Sorry, I meant 800x480 was looking much better than 800x600. I thought I was running 800x600 with StreetDeck. The unit was in the car and I was writing from home. You're right. I checked again and 800x480 looks the best.

With regards to radio and TV reception, maybe because the front end looked so much more crisp and clear that subjectively the sounds also seemed better to me.
But, maybe something to do with the fact that I'm checking TV during the day now with Infill Station and TV from StreetDeck only at night previously at a different location. After I reinstall the StreetDeck, I'll be able to make a better comparison.

I downloaded it from infill.co.kr. To enter the download section you have to first register.

I usually like to set my power down to Stand By because it's much faster than Hibernation. But I just tested with hibernation setting, and no problem coming back to radio. So far, I haven't had any lock-ups or freezes from turning the car off, taking out the keys, to starting the unit back on.

After the memory upgrade, I would say everything got about twice as fast. The windows startup is faster, applications start faster, internet is faster, everything is faster! Also, the harddrive that came with the unit was 4800rpm with 4mb of memory. My new harddrive with 5400rpm with 8mb memory is probably helping too.

Maybe the reason why I had so much problem with StreetDeck previously was lack of memory. I'm still kind of afraid to reinstall StreetDeck, because of some bad experience. After I have thoroughly tested Infill Station and some other applications I'll reinstall StreetDeck and see how it runs under improved memory.
