X Keys? Any feedback?

I ran across this is my search for a hard button interface that doesn't require soldering, button fabbing, or programming. It seems a little pricey, but I don't know of many alternatives for those of us without the skillset to piece together a homebrew solution.

Anyone have experience with an X-Keys stick? It seems like a fairly simple solution to a simple problem.

I used the USB keypad version. Works pretty good if you have the room. Downside is that it doesn't detect what program you are in. You can assign it two different 20 keys and switch it back and forth using the switch built into it. If your are interested let me know by PM. I don't need it anymore since I went a different route.

I figure you can just get a USB Numpad (for laptops) and re bind the keys. Or get one of those funky 109(?) key keyboards and re bind some of those useless keys.

If you only need a few extra functions take out Scroll Lock, Print Screen, and some F keys.....

I tried the USB and PS2 X-keys stick. They sucked.

Caused my pc to stop accepting keystrokes from the regular keyboard. I would have to unplug my keyboard to reset it. Some times the LEDS would start flashing on the X-keys for no reason.

Tech support was non-existant.

Luckily I was able to return them to tiger direct.

I cannot disagree with you more!!!

My company purchased 125 of the Pro (58 key) units. We've been in contact with their support many times and beta tested their macro recorder software. Their tech support is AMAZING!
