IR Fingerprint recognition to start car??

just had a thought.. Could you incorporate an IR fingerprint reader to use to start the car with? perhaps to increase car security or if not, just to use as a 'Flashy' gadget to show off?

im sure that if you was to use a USB IR fingerprint scanner, relevant software that could trigger a Serial port , then a serial port controlled Relay switch, which is then wired into the ignition wires, thus firing the starter motor...

has anyone done this or thought of doing it?

A better way to do this would be if the computer would activate a "security mode" at request. Like if you left your car in a place where you wanted to have som extra security. So normal operation would be just starting with the key but when the "security mode" was active the key would be rendered useless until reactivated from the computer.

I hope this made sense...

Cheers
