yes the bottom is where the headset would plug in. So currently the keyboard isnt even detected by windows.. that means it will require a specialized driver and not just a standing HID driver. Microsoft will throw a driver out for it the question will remain "when".

Looks like I you found me a new add-on to my carputer. Hopefully those drivers appear soon.
BTW turbocad, your FX install looks awesome. I never even knew about plastic welding till I saw your thread.
Anyways do you have any measurements for the keyboard? Thanks!

The description for the product says
"Chatting with friends and family on Xbox LIVEŽ and Windows-based PCs is easy using the Xbox 360 Messenger Kit. This device easily connects to any Xbox 360 controller and provides easy to use chat capabilities while maintaining gameplay functionality in one easy-to-hold device. The Messenger Kit includes a Chatpad and Xbox 360 Headset."
i like where it says Windows based PC's, seems to me like they'd be working on it, no?
haha, anyway, give it a couple weeks, someone is bound to make drivers for it

oh, this thing is sweet. i can't believe it doesn't plug and play already.
doesn't a lot of third party ps2 keyboard and controllers plug and play? you'd freaking think a microsoft made keyboard would.

most ps2 controllers from what i've seen are straight USB, so of course it would work right away
problem is, the chatpad isnt usb (apparently, at least not standard usb)

hey, I brought home the tools to take it apart, but your link just saved me the trouble, Thanks
man, it's just like I pictured, the whole keyboard is no more than 1/4" thick!!!
this thing is built perfect for installing, it doesn't look to easy to hack though... may have to just wait for ms drivers, if there coming anyway it's probably not worth digging too deep into this, I mean the only thing I could do if I had to get this working all by myself, would be to try & pick up a lead off each key & then extend out to my own keyboard matrix controller board, def doable but a heck of a lot more hassle than I'd like to have to do, that's a last resort & it probably wouldn't be necissary after all
I could see spending 10+ hours extending & rewiring, only to have a driver released the next day
I'll wait & see... for now

Yer i have the 360 wireless receiver for windows and a wireless xbox controler and the chatpad.. chatpad does not work yet
i have however not seen any offical microsoft word on driver being made Only a forum member saying he is trying to work on his own haxed drivers... so yer that techsuport guy u called said officaly yes to PC based drivers?... im really upset beacuse in the marketing they dont actualy say its going to work on PC.. just say u can conect to MSN live which is made up of both Xbox and PC users.. i reeeeeeeeaaly hope they release drivers for it will make playing WOW on a 360controler extreamly fun compared to really fun atm.
Any news?... im abit worried that it may be impossible beacuse on my 360 the keyboard is picked up like when the sistem boots (like a bios PS2 simulation thing)... i really fear it may not come to PC at all. (which would make the wireless receaver be a lieing product which clames to work with all xbox stuff)
COME ON MICROSOFT! GIVE ME DRIVARZ WE HEART YOUR CONTROLERS

but, if you look at the diagram on the back of the product box it shows that the keypad connects to the xbox360, and THEN the xbox360 is connected to the computer.
so what makes anyone think that there will be a windows based driver for this keypad if it's only connected to the 360 directly?
