THE DRIVER IS BUILT INTO THE XBOX.
if the xbox can be connected to a PC the coomunicator will / should be able to work on the PC via the Xbox.
so if you can FTP the Xbox still
and just make them communicate then you know the driver is windows compatible with another item/driver from the xbox

the driver in the xbpx is probably just a couple of items away from a xp driver.
find it and see if you can mod it or something....

you cant FTP into the XBOX360 (at least not that i know of), so that idea doesn't really work

and the XBOX can't really connect to a computer, all you can do is play video/sound off of a MCE compatible pc, which has nothing to do with drivers..

and if the drivers were a couple steps away from xp drivers, microsoft would've released them already

well, then it's back to the drawing board and someone will just have to build a usb interface with the chatpad's wiring.

then they can sell it here on the mp3 car store....

any takers?

latest word from MS is they may do drivers for this on the pc, but it is not high on there priority list... I guess as cool as many think it will be, it doesn't interest MS to just do something because a handful want it...

I bought a second one of these, one to butcher I'll butcher it up & see if I can find anything useful, one way or another, I want this in my car, I'll rewire it even if I have to...., still hoping for drivers though at this point...

well I'm confused now.

if they simply make a driver for it for windows, how can we use it if it connects to a 360 directly, and that 360 is connected to a pc?

the driver is pointless than, right? how would we use the driver and connect it directly to a pc?

i dont really understand what your talking about

if you connect the 360 to a PC, the PC becomes nothing more than a fileserver, you cant do anything else with it, so i dont really understand what you mean..

if you mean the controller plugs into the 360, then no, you can plug the 360 controller into a computer, as its just normal USB, the wireless controllers have an adaptor that you can buy

what?

holy crap this is like Laurel and Hardy here.

LOL

So if the chatpad has a USB connection, then Now I understand why we simply need a windows driver for it. which may never come from Microsoft.

that is weird that 360 uses usb connections if they don't have windows drivers for all the input devices. You would think it would be smart marketing to have all 360 input devices work on windows since it already has a usb connection. it would make more sales.

i've read somewhere that microsoft wants to make all their peripherals work for PC, as yeah, you'd get twice the customer base

but obviously the chatpad itself, isnt USB, or standard USB anyway, or windows would detect it..

who knows, maybe it piggybacks the USB connection made by the controller? im not sure, im not a computer genius here or anything, but i hope they make it work, that would be awesome

although i'd probably never really use it, ahah

I think the option for the chatpad to the computer would be via the 360 controller.
