So, my treo 650 took a little unscheduled 40 mph trip off the hood.

(don't ask)

Needless to say, it's toast (something inside couldn't handle the impact forces).

So, I find myself with a neat little keyboard and touchscreen and so many ideas!

Can I make use of the keyboard or is the same issue as trying to use a laptop keyboard? It has a small ribbon cable like a laptop.

Any ideas?

I think it comes down to the same thing as trying to get the laptop keyboard to work. I have an extra sony clie that I'd like to use the screen from, so if someone has any suggestions, I'm open to hear them. I think it would be great to use as a secondary screen for like nav directions, or as a rear control, etc...

BTW what network is it built for? And what broke that didn't also break the screen?
I have a no-camera version lying around that I was about to list on ebay...

Also, you'll need a T5 torx, and a really small phillips to get it apart. (if you didn't know, or for those who might want to know...)

Bell-CDMA.
The case took a severe impact on the edge but is intact. Other than the ground off corner and non-functioning, it has no other visable damage. I've had it apart but there is no visable damage inside (missing, lose or broken pieces). It was almost the same price for me to upgrade to a 700w as it would have been to fix the 650.

lol my 650 ended up in a cup o noodles.... lucky i had insurance on it got the new 755p for 50 bucks lol
