VZ Monaro ('04-'05 Pontiac GTO?) Steering Wheel Control interface

Hi All,

Does anyone know what sort of signal a VZ Monaro transmits to the factory Blaupunkt Stereo? i.e. Is it resistive (different resistance value per button) or is it a digital signal from a microcomputer?

The '04-'05 Pontiac GTO is the US version of my car, so I'd be interested to know what that has, but its quite possible the Steering Wheel Controls have a different interface.

I'm installing an Infill G4 into my Monaro. The G4 can interface to SWC via a resistive input on the G4. I haven't yet pulled out the factory stereo as I want to have everything ready before I do so I don't know what sort of signal my car emits from the SWC to the factory stereo.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brad.

Sorry I can't answer your question but I just bought a VY SS ute and will be chucking a carputer in it soon so will be keen to swap info with you. I'm looking at setting up the steering wheel controls as well.

Its a resistor ladder. i.e. Each button has a different resistance value.

I hooked up my Infill G4. The diagnostic tool shows that each button press is unique but the unit doesn't quite work. I'm sure its the software support for the Infill.

Hey, who needs volume down and mute anyway! My head unit is obviously telling me to PLAY IT LOUD!!!

(All buttons work except MUTE is BACK and VOL DN is VOL UP).

Good Luck.
