OnDigital remote use with Girder demo
I have searched and read the very long thread about this remote but I still need help so here goes.
I have the OnDigital remote control (also has a little qwert keypad built in) and the acompanying RS232 buddy that plugs into the serial port correctly wired so that when I run the freeware program called Serial Watcher on com port one it shows the serial signals as I press each button on the remote so I know it is 100% working.
I have the demo version of Girder (says 4.0 on it when it is running but was the latest demo downloaded 2 days ago) with the generic serial plugin loaded and running.
When I run the add remote wizard for some reason something is setting the wizard off (not sure how as there are no remote controls in my bedroom where my test setup is) so I wish to add the remote myself.
I go to the ADD REMOTE WIZARD and choose GENERIC SERIAL but it doesn`t allow any keypresses when it gets to the screen where it lets you assign keys.
I went to the settings and changed the port to com port one (the correct port that the remote buddy is attached to) but have to choose UNASSIGNED as a remote there.
How the heck do you get this working with Girder as I have read all available threads and don`t think I`ve missed anything so any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks.
Dave
