a LONG time ago, there were some threads on remotes that opened to reveal a keyboard inside. I've recently remembered seeing them here, but am having a hard time finding them. Here are a couple of threads I did find:

The problem is that none of the links/pics work any longer. Does anybody know of a remote (prefer RF, but will settle for IR) that is a standard remote, but opens (slides or clamshell or something) to a qwerty keyboard (or similar)?
