Well I haven't got to the steering wheel column yet but I was playing around with a USB controller yesterday.

I had just attached a wire to one of the analog sticks. The wire ran to one of the three pins on I think the x axis. Then I ran my SWC wire to that wire. I plugged in the controller and did a test pushing the SWC buttons. The controller responded to each button push like I was moving the analog stick around, but it was wired because some button presses caused it to move on both the x and y axis and even the z and rz axis moved on a couple of presses.

I was just wondering why all of the axises would have movement? Do you think I just wired into the wrong spot on the controller?

It's normal for one axis to effect the others slightly. Connect the wire to the middle pin. That's the input. The other 2 are 5V and ground.

Well I got my steering column off but I'm having trouble locating the SWC wire. I can see about 6 little wires coming from the buttons on both sides of the steering wheel but they are very hard to get to and I don't think I can take them off. I think I'm gonna have to find a wiring diagram because there are a lot of wires in there and its really hard to get to them and tell where they are going.

Well, Looks like I got it figured out. I switched the 2 resistors to 390 and that put all of the buttons below 2.5v. I downloaded God_of_CPU's program and then used that to set up each button on the steering wheel. I have to do a little playing around with it yet but I have all but 1 button functioning which is fine with me.

I think I'll write up a small tutorial on how to do this once I'm comfortable that it's working well. Thanks everyone for your help with this I really appreciate it.
