KenWood IPOD Interface to PC

Hi all,
i am trying to use the existing ipod interface that my head unit has to communicate serial with a PC.

This is how is the current setup
Kenwood H/W (DDX8027) <--> Ipod Interface (KCA-iP500) <--> IPOD

By using the proper equipment (thanks mitch), i am able to communicate with IPOD over serial port (protocol etc is known):
Program using PC Serial <--> iPod Explorer H/W <---> IPOD

My intention is :

Program using PC Serial <--> iPod Explorer H/W <--> Ipod Interface (KCA-iP500) <--> Kenwood H/W (DDX8027)

So far, i able to wake up the ipod interface and i believe it tries to send/receive data but the program on the PC does not get any data through the serial port.

I am not that familiar with electronics, any guidance will be appreciated.

Thanks
Chris

I have found the answer in another post 'iPod Car Adapter Hacked for Carputer Use'.

It was the wiring that had to be reversed.
