Compass

Has anyone any experience with a reasonably priced digital compass that could be interfaced over USB or provide a voltage output for an ADC? I would like to have a compass as an addition to my GPS receiver.

I need one axis device that can be easily calibrated for the surrounding magnetic fields in the car. Precision of 5° would be sufficient I think. Price max USD 100.

I couldn't think of any digital compasses off hand that have an analog interface, but you an check these ones with a digital interface here. There is probably a way you can connect one of these to a computer. The resolution looks to be enough for your needs as well.

That link has a typo -- it should be http://www.trossenrobotics.com/store...avigation.aspx. It's a good link to have. Thanks.
