Keypads: Ask a gargoyle?

Anyone read Snow Crash? Anyhow, there is this.. group of people who are trying to build computers they can wear around with them. I did a few yahoo searches on "wearable computers" and got a lot of hits. I’m still digging through the results. It’s going to take a long time, and I could use a hand digging through the data.

I am thinking they may have a solution to our search for good input devices.

I’m thinking that the wearable computer community:
a) Seems to have been around longer then the mp3's.
b) Is, at least as technically minded as the car computer folks, if not significantly more so..
c) Is larger then the mp3 community.
d) Is more focused on input devices then we are; they absolutely need easy-to-use, tiny keyboard and or mice, whereas we would like one... but most of the car-mp3 people doest absolute need it

Already I have seen a bunch of sites with good products.. most of them are
a) Old, and out of business
b) Sell their products for an immense amount of money, apparently these wearable computer folks are also well off...

But I am going to bet that if we can find a site, or talk to a few members of that group, we can find what we are looking for.

yeah they been out for years now, way b4 mp3 even came out. Their main input is the twiddler (as i remember), which was a hand held with like 4 buttons which mimic a full size keyboard. one of the big difference between those and these are size and price. Wearable ones cost somewhere 3-5 times as much as stuff here.

hmmm, yeah, that seems like the situation. the wearable stuff is quite expensive. You did list a good link for a wearables discussion on using the cirque as a pc keyboard, so they might have some ideas we could use....
Sadly, I didnt see they ever came up with a full scale driver for the cirque (they had a few java ones tho), just a wireing diagram, which would work with a driver, if someone wrote one.
