Creative Infra Remote (Which Frequency?)
Hello Everybody,
I bought a Creative Infra Remote to be able to use in my car, however I think the receiver is too big. Therefore I found a link on the web with a simple schematic which is a nice IR receiver. However the IR-eye has to be chosen at a certain wave-length. Does anybody have an idea about the wavelength of the Creative Infra Remote?
Thanks for the information!
Willems

If you take apart the creative receiver, you will see that it's small.
Also, I noticed that the PCB is bigger than it needs to be to accomidate screw holes.
I plan to pull mine out of the casing and cut the ends off the PCB...
It will be quite small at that point...

same here.. I also found that my ONKYO dvd and reciever remotes both work with it.. if you find a universal remote that can be used with these then you've got a nice cheap IR reciever to use with a nice and functional remote

i picked one up last weekend for $9.99CDN with a coupon so i couldn't pass it up. Has anyone got one of these "working" with Girder yet? I say "working" because i hear some people say it's "possible" but i have had no luck when i messed around with it. Anybody?

I had some trouble too, but I downloaded a sample from girder's site, modified it for my remote and now can do a ton of things with it...

what sample from Girders site did you use? A plugin or one from the main page with "10 Newest Files" listed.
what programs are you using yours with?

I only saw a winamp3 one so I downloaded that one.
I had to re-work it a bit since it was pointing to wrong executables.
Once I did that, it worked like a champ.
I have full mouse functionality as well as some funky shift options that took me a little brainstorm to do.
If you are still having problems doing it, let me know and I'll email you the main part of mine...

Well I opened up my receiver, and I saw that it is fairly big on the inside as well. Therefore I'll build my own receiver.
Using this schematics...
http://www.tweakhardware.com/guide/remote/
I allready found out that the frequency is at 39.2 khz. Therefore a 40 Khz receiver module will suffice.
About the definitions for Girder I guess I would like to receive them as well, since I do not have an idea about how to implement the Shift functions.
Indeed the plugin mentioned is the right one. I already was able to try it with that plugin as well.
Greetings,
Pascal
