Use the holes on the sides to bolt it into the car's bracket.

where should i start...
the boxster (986 & 987 series) have two very different dashboards. The 986 series was split into 99-02 dash and 03-04 dash. I have a 03. In the 986 series porsche used a standard din system. I 05-till they use there own system. (as I writing this I now realize what i need) the last time i did a install on my 01 Boxster S I only needed to add the mounting kit. i dont think a need anything else. The probelm i ran into with my 01 was there was a gap in between the air vents and the first din. I dont yet have my 03 in. when it comes in I think that problem will not happen because of the change in dash in 03.

if i run into a problem, i know where to come.

thanks guys,

I would start by measuring. The frames are 177 x 107 x 77 W x H x D. You can get just a frame for $30 if you want to test fit one. The metra kits are nothing more then a piece of moulded ABS plastic. If it comes to it a good customization shop will be able to fab one up for you.

I will do. I not to worried about the metra kits like this one on ebay. If it comes down to where I need to order one... I will. I installed on my old Boxster, in din slot one, a single din 7" touchscreen. It left me with a small gap. i think (i dont have the car yet i'm waiting on it being transported to me) with the 03 boxster the gap will not be there because there a thin cup holder up there now. I found a ebay pic of a 03 Boxster S. The dd Lilliput that I'm buying seems to have enough trim around it, but until I have both car and screen I will have too wait to see.
