I bought a touch screen panel and controller from ebay. It came with win 95/98 drivers, but I only have access to win 2000 and xp so I am trying to install the touch screen in my computer but I am not having any luck.
I tried with the drivers from the digitalww touch kit and also with the Xenarc drivers and I am getting the same results:
The touch software detects the controller in the comport 3 but when I select it the computer freezes. The mouse moves but the rest of the computer does not respond even to CTR-ALT-DEL.
I am wondering if I need to set something up differently or if I need to keep trying with different drivers.
How can I test if the screen/controller work. Maybe is a hardware problem?....
Any help will be really appreciated.

The touch kit's brand is "TouchRight" and the connector is serial.

if a program is installed along with the drives to control the device you could try running that in emulation mode to simulate win 98. Just a thought not sure what else to say.

try:

1) connect the serial of the touch screen to another com port.
2) disconnect the mouse from the pc. maybe goes in conflict.
3) look in the boius if the irq are set properly
