Looking for Gear Shift/Knob as a mouse

Hi,

One of the things i really was really looking for Carputer is a nice elegant way to control it without any other extras such as touch pads, wireless mouse or even VGA touchscreen.

What i really wanted is a mouse that will be integrated on the Gear Knob.. i have (and always will drive..) a Manual gear shift and it can be just perfect if some company will design and produce such a gear knob that will have the fanctionality of mouse in it.

this can be implemented in various ways like trackball or finger mouse (like laptops have in the middle of the keyboards)

from what i searched here and on the web i found a comapny called Interlink that has something very close to my "dream":

more details here

i wrote them an email that explains the potential of this for the "carputer scene".. and didn't get any reply yet.

Now i'm looking for some other poeple who wanna help to make this gear shift mouse as the best solution for carputer input device that can replace that weird mouses everyone are using.

Anyone has some new ideas?
