I have a powermate and I love it. It's a great peice of kit. Be warned, the windows drivers for it aren't that great. The powermate software only lets you control programs that are in focus, and it has issues with using the click and rotate function.

Most of the problems can be worked around. I'd reccomend using girder to make your powermate control applications.

There should be a driver update that fixes most of the issues some time soon. I talked with the people there about a bug in their drivers in june and they said it would get fixed in the next driver release.
