3M Touch panel?
Hi,
Does anyone know where can i get 3M MicroTouch™ PL Analog Resistive Touch Screen (10.4", 4wire) without contacting 3M directly? http://www.3m.com/3Mtouchsystems/Pro...stive/PL.jhtml
"PL screens use a full sheet of specially formulated optical-grade adhesive to bond the switch layers to strengthened glass"

[So you dont have to worry about breaking the glass]
Im looking for either this product or similar.
thx

By similar do you mean a 10.4 touch screen, or this kind of touch screen specifcally?
If you just want a touch screen overlay at 10.4 inches, then you can get it from www.digitalww.com. That is the normal pressure sensative one though. There are other kinds, like ones that only work with human touch and such, but I can't remember where I saw them, but they were a lot of money.

I meant similar as the regular touchscreen but without the glass layer.
Yes i know i can get it from digitalww. I even bought one, but unfortunately it broke after a while.
I dont have nice housing which came with the screen, and enough room to get that size of touch panel in witout modifying something. I see only one solution in those self-adhesive touchpanels.

Good news,
I contacted 3M and that's what they said:
"(...)You will also need a controller with this sensor. You can use controller p/n RES4-232-BRD or 84-109, you can use either one of these controllers the only difference is that the 84-109 is usually left for smaller sensors---usually 10.4 or smaller. After you acquire the availability from the inventory online query form you will then have to contact that particular distributor for shipping information. Cost usually differs from distributors but they generally are about $40 for the sensor and another $40 for the controller.
Soon I'll contact one of the resellers to get more accurate price.
