Cheapest Easiest Remote

What is my cheapest, easiest solution to have a controller to run my pc without the need for a keyboard or mouse ?
I have a m10000 and have nothing plugged into the infrared port. I also have a USB -> Irda Receiver.
My carputer boots straight into Mediaengine so controls to just control that would be great - eg esc , up, down, left, right, pageup, pagedown, enter

Well I know with the Shuttle XPC's, you can get a nice IR remote and receiver that controls basic windows functions and the mouse. You could also go with a good wireless keyboard.

The easiest (and in my opinion) the cheapest solution is to use a touchscreen if you have one or are planning to get one. Then if you want a few external buttons still, the winamp com port control is a good thing. I have a few buttons wired up to my com port and using the plugin with media car (as it uses winamp as its music backend), i can control media car with the buttons quite nicely (of course this is useless to you as you are using media engine and from memory it uses windows media player 9 as its backend). Im gonna put the buttons into my steering wheel when i get a chance :-)

Hope this helps,

I use the keyspan remote, it doesn't have number buttons, but it makes up for it by looking real cool and being real small, it has a real nice feel considering its so small too. Its easy to install, just plug it in to the USB port and bind the buttons to the keys, the software is a bit hard to use, but once you get it setup it works real well and is pretty comprehensive.
