TouchScreen Drivers & Installation
Got my Lilliput today, everything is great! Except they gave me a blank cd with no drivers! Having said that i found these drivers:
http://www.egalax.com.tw/Download.htm
Is that what you guys are using? Now when windows detects the screen and i try to install the drivers from that page it detects and installs the "TouchScreen USB Controller" but when it's time to actually detect the usb device it bugs out and gives me this message:
"A service installation section in this INF is invalid"
Has anyone ran into similar problems? I searched the board for this but nothing came up. Maybe/Hopefully i'm just using the wrong drivers...

Send me an email with the email address where you want the drivers sent, and I will send you what I am using. By the way I am running XP Pro. What OS are you using?

I am using the Beta version fo the drivers succesfully. This is one way that I chose to overcome the bug preventing going into standby mode. I installed these drivers over the existing ones without any issues.

went throug the same hassle for the last 6 hours ! ! !!, opening the screen up checking connectors and so on, turns out my bluetooth dongle and widcomm software had to be uninstalled as there were no com ports avail, looks like the touchscreen likes com2 or 3
so check what is occupying your com ports and then uninstall that, load the touchscreen follow the instructions in the help file and then reinstall your other apps after that, worked 100% for me

Thanks
Just wanted to thank you guys for this thread ;-).. especially the last comment was helpfull.. it seems the widecomm software is not the only bluetooth soft that makes it impossible to install the touchscreen ( with me it just locked my machine making me do hard reboots for about 8 times ;-) )

are most of these touchscreens from the same manufacturer? the touchscreen USB drivers for my pixelon are problematic. namely they prevent the machine from going into standby and if i hibernate, upon restart XP crashes.

i couldnt take not knowing . yes, they work. using the beta drivers from the link above, my laptop now goes into standby and also no longer crashes resuming from a hibernate. apparently these drivers also can emulate a mouse so you can get the start bar to come up by sliding your finger down toward it, but i haven't played with that.

For those using the Lilliput... does the 7" display actually fit into a double DIN? Or, is there some modification to the display itself?
Thanks for any information.

the 7" display will fit into a double DIN slot, but the housing itself will not.

I hate dragging up old threads, but how would one go about modding a 7" display to be mounted in a double DIN slot? Curious, as I've though about ditching a head unit and just running a computer for MP3 playback and maybe GPS later on down the road. Also, if I decide later that I require FM radio, are there any receivers or anything to that affect that can receive FM radio broadcasts for CarPCs?

WTF did you drag this one up for then!
You might want to search the LCD/Display section and Fabrication section
