Simone

I have verified with the resistor from 500ohm, but I have not obtained good I turn out to you.
The software SWC the behave myself optimally, but for the values of the key enter and of key + he does not succeed to pick up marks them, because the values to are too much similar.
It tares the values optimally for the key enter and volume “+” wraps it of the values is too much near from 100 90.

How I can resolve this my problem?

Simone

Each time you change resistors you should calibrate the joystick in control panel. See if that helps.

Sure!
I have always carried out the setting of the joystick on the panel of the control. I have always calibrated the joystick with the control panel, every time that I carried out the change of resistance.
I use joystick 2 axes and 2 buttons, I bore the keys of the sterring wheel command, and the joystick turns out centers them!

Software SWC reads to equal values for the key Volume + and that one of the key enter, is too much similar!
SWC reads the remaining values of keys correctly

Help!
Simone

What numbers do you see for each button and with no button? Maybe that can help me figure out what's going on.

The values of the resistances of mine steering wheel command are:
“ENTER”, “+” and “-” switch resistance
All switches released (OFF): 4700 - 5600 kΩ I read 5,17k
A) “ENTER” switch (1) pushing on (ON): 50 - 60 Ω I read 0,06K
B) “+” switch (2) pushing on (ON): 120 - 140 Ω I read 0,13K
“-” switch (3) pushing on (ON): 220 - 260 Ω I read 0,24K

“MODE”, and switch resistance
All switches released (OFF): 4700 - 5600 kΩ I read 5,17K
C) “MODE” switch (4) pushing on (ON): 370 - 460 Ω I read 0,42K
D) witch (5) pushing on (ON): 680 - 820 Ω I read 0,7K
switch (6) pushing on (ON): 1400 - 1700 Ω I read 1,57K

SWC reads the values of enter and those of volume + or - too much near.

THANK YOU

SIMONE

Are you using babblefish? That thing is goofy.
What values do you get for each button in SWC?

Excuse for my English! I use the translator of google!

Swc reads the following values: with resistor of 500ohm

key ENTER: 100 - 100;
Key +: 100 - 96..98;
key -: 96 - 92;
key mode: 86;
key > 72;
key > 60;
I have problems to shape key + and the key enter, the key - he does not create problems!

Thanks for your patience… I am in difficulty also with the language!

Yoda-like are translators. Suck they do.

So the connection to the steering wheel is like this right?

+5V ---<500ohm>---- Steering wheel wire 1
Joy X ---Steering wheel wire 1
Steering wheel wire 2 ---<500ohm>---Gnd

I'm having trouble with math today. Between 50 ohms and 120 ohms should be enough of a difference. Anyone else that can help?

Edit: I think a 100 ohm will work better:
+5V ---<500ohm>---- Steering wheel wire 1
Joy X ---Steering wheel wire 1
Steering wheel wire 2 ---<100ohm>---Gnd

I use this system:
pin 1 --+----------+
........ Z..............|
. . . . . Z 500 ohm ==== swc
........ Z..............|
pin 3 --+----------+

pin 6 --+
......... Z
........ Z 500 ohm
..........Z
pin 8 --+

I try with resistor from 100 ohm
Thank you
Simone

That may be very noisy because it is not grounded. Try this.

pin 1 --<500>---+---SWC1
pin 3 -----------/

pin 4 --<100>--------SWC2

ok I try your solution!
thanks you.
Mine swc it is composed from a single cable:

Wheel-------swc============

You should have 2 wires so you can complete the circuit, unless it is grounded somewhere. The electricity must flow from source to ground somehow or the values will not change. For example (5V-<500ohm>-X) X=5V, but (5V-<500ohm>-X-<500ohm>-Gnd) X = 2.5V

excuse but I want to say:
I have two cables that go to the sterring wheel.
Only cable composed from two cables.
A positive one and leads current to the resistors the other transmits the values!

I have a doubt the values of the commands of the steering are read for +12v… the port game joystick has only +5.
It is not that values +5 to the resistors of series give annoyance?

I try with your solution!
Thank you
Simone

Your solution does not work!
The gameport of the creatives sound blaster it sees the “joystick” but in the control panel, I cannot make the configuration,
as soon as I press the keys does not recognize the joystick.

That is not good. I guess your old way works better, but I don't see how. Maybe try resistors a little higher or lower to see which works better?
