Cool use your ipod or any mp3 player or sound player as remote!

Ok, i have'nt been on the board for years now, got my self an 20gig ipod and it sure beats my 200mhz 5 gig huge pc in a trunc.

Well to all you i just read an article showing you how to use your ipod OR any other sound player as a remote.
link > http://features.engadget.com/entry/6336778455600767/

the basics are that you can record an ir signal by wirering an ir receiver to an audio minijack and connecting it to your mic input and then after recording it you can play that sounfd trough your mp3 player in by using an ir transmitter wired to an audio mini jack read the page from the url above to learn more.

I have the total remote from griffin, its cool :-)

In fact, using it as a universal remote is now the only reason I have for keeping my Toshiba e740 pocket PC.

If you have an ipaq you don't need to go throgh all that trouble of recording the ir signal as a wave file. All you need is the TotalRemote software and device and you are good to go.
