New IR Wireless Keyboard

I just obtained a Philips wireless keyboard from the Pomona computer show and it seems to intermittently ignore the keys. Everything else seems fine, however I can watch as it steadfastly ignores typed keys. Now I am sitting 6 feet away and it is better. Oh well, I just observed 'u' 'b' and 'v' ignored!!!!!...it was only like $12 so ...whatever!!

I would try a few things first before you throw it off as a loss.

Change the Batteries
Reposition IR receiver
make sure the keyboard doesn't move while typing
test to see if this happens to the same keys over and over, or just any key

Test the keys so you know it isn't something like a sticky key or something easy like that, but if none of these works, then maybe somebody else here could help. Those are the only things I can think of at the moment.

I have two of them and the second one is alot better this is the first one OH DUH!!!!!! It is perfect now I am so dumb there was sticky crap over the IR LED and all is fine now!!!!!!!

sticky crap as in the crap that you have to peel off something when you buy it, it was blocking the irled somewhat
