Touchpad for new install
Putting together the bits for my new install; I'm ditching the Xbox / Linux / Freevo setup which; although good, is just too big and clunky.
I've got a Saintsong Espresso pc coming (900MHz C3, 256Mb, 40Gb disk, i810, svideo out) which is going to take up a lot less room. As I'm using the screen built into my Pioneer AVCR head unit, I'm looking for a compact, discreet controller.
I was thinking about a little trackpad, the kind of thing you get on laptops, mounted in the space where the ashtray is (on the mkiv Supra its right in the middle of the centre console with a cool flip-up cover and is illuminated). Any thoughts? I was planning on taking a look at media-engine and perhaps a gps system (can't be bothered with linux this time.. i work with it all day). So would this be able to access all the functionality of those apps?

Chronic, yeah, thats exactly the kind of thing I was thinking of (no wires, keyboards, mice or joypads on display!)... but I think I could get it so that the flip up cover of the ashtray would conceal it.
Now.... anyone know of any UK suppliers of little trackpads like that?

Actually just found something on Amazon that could work just as nicely...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...774571-6349444
Its a wireless presentation remote... basically same kind of layout as a normal head unit remote, with a track button and two mouse buttons on it. Fairly cheap, too. It's in black and silver, too :-)

I've got that presenter remote on the way... let me know if that trackpad is any good; they both look like nice input methods.
