Cool I got beta Powermate Drivers.

So I sent some Emails to Griffin about getting a hold of ANY sort of updates for the Powermate in Windows. Lo and behold, I got a response, and a set of beta drivers. As with all beta drivers, Griffin is not liable if they screw up your system. Griffin dudes, if you're reading this, please don't sue me.

Are they for both 2K and XP? Have you tried them yet?

I just got them about 45 minutes ago. They SEEM to solve the click and rotate bug, as well as the bug with it not detecting the powermate on boot.

They work in XP, and I don't see why they wouldn't work with 2k but I have no 2k box to test on.

Fluffy.. let me just say... YOU ROCK...

Gotta love that they finally came out with these... only 8months after they told me they were gonna release them

Good find anyways

oh quick question.. since i'm at work and cant test till late tonight....

Do these also resolve the issue of PM being used through a HUB and functioning properly??

thanks

I have not used it through a hub yet, (I haven't gotten around to doing a driver update on my laptop) so I don't know.

There does not seem to be any new features. Just all the old ones work properly now. I feel that these drivers finally make the powermate a finished, usable product. It's just a shame that they arn't releasing them.

Unfortunetly it still appears that the powermate does not work with a hub properly. Mine causes all sort of problems when used through a hub. Anyone else??

I still havent tried a hub yet, but for the most part i'm happier now with the Powermate

I will eventually need to get it to run in a hub, but hopefully someone else will figure it out first

Oh is your hub pwered? if its not maybe try?

not really sure bud.. mine works coming out of hibernation now and on start.. no more needing to (un)plug the powermate to get it to recognize..

some people before (as a means to beat this) wired a switch into the power wire for the powermate and just switched it on after the pc was up..might help you

Apolov - Yes, it was powered. When the powermate is plugged into it none of the other ports will work. It appears to take over the whole hub. Any suggestions?
