How does the adapter connect to your PC? do we have to buy any other cables to get this to work? You havent included a USB cable in the photo on pg 1.

I'll publish all photos and stuff this weekend. Everything you'll need is included.
USB cable, Audio with 3.5'' and MBus cable along.

jbors, I like what you're doing, especially since I'm a loyal Alpine consumer. Any suggestions on how I could get a PC to "listen" to an ai-net HU so I can begin "decoding" the protocol? I assume you had to do this at some point during this project. Any advice you could offer me would be hugely benneficial. And, by the way, if you ever develop an adapter that is fully ai-net compatible, I would be very interested. Thanks in advance!

I'll work on Ai-Net for sure, but later. Just got my hands on VAG USB adapter for stock VW, AUDI and BMW. It works like a rock !
I'll post some pics and WinAmp plugin after long weekend in a separate post.

Greetings to all!
ibors - the problem with adapter Ai-Net seems to me is already solved itself Alpine... Alpine iPod Interface, KCA-420i. iPod is not product Alpine is joined with PC through FireWire or USB 2.0 has most likely a certain interface for remote controls and S-Video Out. If to look at a picture on site Alpine on iPod LCD shines Logo Alpine.... From here the conclusion - a signal from Ai-Net is converted either FireWire or USB 2.0! As I understand the Problem available the driver for PC.....

This doesnt solve the problem, it simply transfers it. Instead of having to understand the Alpine encoding, we would have to understand the Ipod encoding AND purchase a rather expensive cable to try it out...

In what actually a problem??? In the price of a cable??? All with it is simple: the screw-driver, a soldering iron and a cheap Chinese cable is required.... We Open Alpine iPod Interface, KCA-420i and it is done{made} to it{him} trimming uppss in general we clean{remove} the plug and we solder a cable..... On a straight line in a payment cheaply and abruptly.... Than on management iPod differs from PC??? What it is easier in decoding commands{teams}??? USB or Ai-Net??? Excuse I in it not the expert. But that that to me prompts that to time for realization of drivers for Alpine iPod Interface, KCA-420i there will leave much less, and time - money.... She{it} real economy....
(Excuse I do not speak in English)
