"I will run beta testing for my new MBus adapters which can connect to _any_ car in about 1 week."

So your MBus interface will work on any headunit?

Yes it will work with _any_ OEM headunit. Some of the will work directly, some through adapters. Hereis the page with compatibility list: http://indashpc.org/new/adapters/usbmbus.html

Jbors,

Have you written any interface code(read, write) with python for your BMW I-Bus adapter?

Hi Jbors

I PM'd you a while ago over the Volvo V50/S40 that uses the MOST Bus. You said it was likely to be the same interface. Do you know of anyone using your kit on a Volvo V50 or S40 2005 model?

I'd really like to get this to work but I have no knowledge of the input to the Volvo system. I'd hope it would be the DIN as you show.

Any help appreciated

Old Volvo used MBus for sure. MOST is the new optofiber bus. It is used in new BMW, similar thing used in Mercedes. So MOST will be a separate adapter.

I never committed to it neither I worked toward it. Once I decide to work on it, I'll let everybody know. Don't know the timeline yet

The IP-BUS adapter/controller will make you big bucks... just from the looks of the people in this thread... imagine all the people that would buy it if it showed up in the mp3car.com store! this could start a damn frenzy... keeping up with demand will be impossible... you may have to sell the design to a third-party... Either way, you'll be swimming in your money like Scrooge McDuck in no time!

I may have to buy a different headunit or something to hook it up to my PC... we'll see.

Agreed!!! I'd buy one tommorrow!

Does this mean its in your thought process? I know that Volvo have this in mind for the states

http://www.volvocars.us/VolvoOwnersh...od_Adapter.htm

made by Phatnoise

http://www.phatnoise.com/products/autoport/index.php

However when I approached Phatnoise to ask them for all their company secrets and how I could hack up their adapter to use with a PC, they politely told me in which direction and how I should go. Very politely I must add

VADIS volvo's documentation and management software has little to give away ion input details. I'm not about to give up yet!

You really think the MOST adapter will bring you more money? If you really sit down and think about it... how many BMW owners are going to keep to stock stereo, especially considering the fact that they are obviously putting in a carputer...

Do you know anymore about compatability with 98-02 accord head units? Those headunits use some sort of the MBus protocol, though I don't know if the protocol is different or just the pinouts/connector. Thanks!
