As of Panasonic, I have a simple adapter for emulating Panasonic CD changer but never got it done in full. I can share all source codes I have+ send you PCB board so you can play with it if you can/want.

Thats great news and its compatible with rr when can I get my hands on one ?

I just thought I'd share that the 6th generation Accords (1998-2002) utilize the M-Bus (as I suspected). I've made my own adaptor with an AVR microcontroller using info from here. So far it seems that all the control codes are the same. The only thing that is different is the connector. I'm working with JAE Connectors to get some samples. It seems that adaptors such as this are really just connector adaptors at a hefty premium!

That adaptor's page has some interesting statements about all its advanced "circuitry".
Quote:
Peripheral's new "IL" interfaces revolutionize CD changer interface technology. One look at the internal circuitry reveals surface mount technology which utilizes a microprocessor for a truly state-of-the-art interface. The all digital interface ensures reliable operation and easy future software upgrades.

Could you go into details about the modifications? I haven't found any so far.

Thumbs up Beta

I just found this forum and I must say, I'm impressed with what I've been seeing so far! I'm using a PDA right now as sorta a CarPC but I really want to do a full blown carputer. I have an Alpine AINet HU but it is about to be upgraded to one of the new DVA-9861's just released. I'm REALLY SYKED about having an interface that I can control directly from the HU! WHen you get the AINet unti ready, I volunteer for beta-testing!!!!

The first set of IPBus boards will be soldered next week. Once tested it will go for beta testing to see if its good or bad. I'll open up the new thread once I have 100% confidence.
