you cannot play off a USB drive, unless you hook that USB drive up to some sort of PC...

on that note... it is definitely possible for him to build some sort of micro-controller that could do this in the future... since he has the protocol figured out..

jbors, I have a question for you.
Well, my MBUS Car2PC adapter working fine for a while and now it isn't "really" working.
Serveral weeks ago, the HU didn't display any Disk. Instead of display D-(1-6), it just display D-. Track is always at 1. Look like it's error when reading disk info and song info. Disk changing (1-6) and track prev/next doesn't work.
First I thought it was RR problem, but it wasn't because the samething exist if I use winamp stand alone. If I setup the plugin in winamp for all "6 disk", it doesn't save that config. Always blank out and the buttons disk/track doesn't work. Anyway to fix this or driver/software update?

have you tried this on a different PC, maybe a laptop or something, just for testing purposes?

Pretty weird thing. Is there any way you can restart the adapter by just disconnecting it from the stereo ?
Please get the latest plugin from here:

I'll try the latest driver and plugin to see if that fix the problem.
Unplug the adapter from the HU seem to be a problem, but I'll try it if any other mean doesn't fix the problem.
I don't have a laptop to try, but I can run a USB cable and connect it to my Matrix setup and see if that help.
Does the adapter has built in voltage protection? I assume it does. The reason I ask because lately, the battery drain out serveral times (completely dead) due to a malfunction SDC. Whenever the battery dead, I jump/push start the car. So if there is any voltage spike, that could potentially kill the adapter, but most/all those times, the HU was off anyway.

Next question is: When can I get the Ai-Net version of the adapter?????

Problem FIXED.

Problem: New version of RR cause the problem. RR already handle the process/translation/command between RR and the driver. There is a conflict between RoadRunner's Car2PC implementation and Winamp Plugin. Prior version of RR (back when I got the adapter) rely on the plugin. Latest RR version doesn't.

Solution: Uninstalled the plugin.
My current installation.
I have 2 versions of winamp (2.95 and 5.x). RoadRunner use version 2.95 which I don't install the plugin for winamp. That work fine with RoadRunner. Some time I don't use RR. So, I use winamp 5.x and I install the plugin for it. That combination serve both way for me.
Now back to the road once again with car2PC enable .

I'm afraid the won't be any in nearest future. Even though the next version will be able to support AiNet through firmware upgrade, but no firmware exists so far

Anything for MkV VW's?

What would it take to run something like this headless?

If we like this concept what is our best option at the moment?

Do we need to use an OEM deck (of the brands mentioned) to make this work?

Which of these are the most aesthetically pleasing choices and are of standard din or compatible with double din?

There are some aftermarket stereos supported. But we're working mostly on OEM ones. Which one do you need ?
