Wrong fiend....

I have got two of LMDIGITAL units (LM6501 and LM7501)

None could control PC, all have USB for USB key like you said.

I aim to hack one of mine to make the touch screen work with PC

Yes many thanks jbors!

I realised as soon as I got it it would not control PC. I would be very, VERY, interested in knowing more on your hacking project coucouillu.

Hi have a 1999 Jaguar, the HU is OEM but i believe is Alpine based and there is an Ai-NET cable going to the CD Changer in the rear. I also understand that the HU's are locked down in someway so you need to use Jag branded parts. What i want to be able to do is play around with the input to the CD changer so that i can use the CD controls to control the CarPC. I have read through this thread and from what i can gather an AI-NET interface is still being developed, but when/If it comes out just how much access to the AI-NET protocol would it give (ie. would i be able to fool the OEM HU that it
is seeing its own cd changer when in fact it's intefacing to something else?

Also if any one has a description of the AI-NET protocol I would love to know what the messaging is so i can have a go at building this myself, or at least being able to pull up the protocol on my PC screen.

Also I was wondering if i could use Joergs cct design for the MBus interface to look at the AI-NET signals?

I'd like to buy one for my Alpine IVA-D901. I assume this pops up as something like CD Changer through AI-Net? Sorry I didn't read the previous 28 pages, just the first. My goal is a CARPC with the ability to control the PC from the 8 or so buttons under the LCD screen. How do I get one from you?

I'm not confident we will be doing AiNet at this point. Sorry for that.

I did not run much testing on Avic but it seems that touchscreen can be used to some extent. Though I do not have Avic to say for sure

Last I heard, the touchscreen interface is used as if you are connected to a disc changer... you will see on-screen controls, and I think you can see text... but it's not like you can see a windows desktop and control it like that... your only solution for that is to put a touch-overlay on the screen, and that would plug into your PC with USB... but then the AVIC would be worthless...
