Ebay?

Yeah but i don't fancy spending £20 for a £2 connector! and that is before the usual rip off £4 postage for a wire!

Here is a link to a place that sells (when they have them in stock) the sockets that will work for the Alpine (and sony) cables so you don't have to cut your existing cable http://www.intravention.co.uk/hosiden/

Apparently CPC (in the UK) sell them too but I could not find them on the site (their online cat. is crap).

I don't know yet what connector stands after AiNet. For MBus it is a regular DIN8.
I'll take a look at AiNet next week and will keep you posted. Unilink is the interesting one 'cause it has a lots of into on it.

I just took a look at the BusLink connectors and they seem to be the same for AiNet and Unilink.

Yeah JVC are the same cable too i believe. Looking on ebay for an Alpine or JVC cable might end up cheaper than Sony as the sony ones are very popular and normal punters always go for sony stuff. Shame i didn't notice your progess sooner or i may have gone Alpine instead. Oh well, got a nice Sony now with joystick and DSP.

Let me check the final price next week. I don't want to sell vaporware, so just hold on for now.
Thanks for the offer though.

What exactly would be needed to allow this adapter to work? Would it be a plug-in for a front-end? Is it something that would need programming? Or is it a simple config. then play deal? No matter what, i'm still über-intrested in buying one!

Not that many... Still doing board verification and things. You know it takes time. I'll update everyone at the end of the week.

Just a heads up. I forwarded the PCB design to the local manufacturer.
They will quote me on 10 pcs first and then build it.
Their estimate is 15 biz days from yesterday. I will post schematics on my web site next Monday.

Just an update on AiNet. It turned out that AiNet is not been fully discovered, so have to spend some time doing it. The most appropriate time would be the end of Feb and I think the device would be ready by mid March.
In the meantime still working on the P/IP bus for those who has Panasonic and Pioneer.
