I've been searching for something similar for my stock audio in my VW, and as far as I know, there is no OEM product that does anything of the kind. For VW there is a product that does that and some more, but at this point of time only schematics of it exist, nothing is for sale.
So if you will really want to do something of the kind, you will need to do some programming of your own.

true if someone can decode ( revese engineer ) the signals.
you could use this to control the pc as if it was a changer or an xm-radio.
in theroy you could get a return signal to the display such a track and
title just like xm.
this sould be able to be done with a PIC as long as someone can figure out the signals from the head unit.
