i've got a playstation style controller thats usb. its pretty sweet, has a dpad. the reason i have it though is i riped it apart and am using the circuitry on it as an interface. im putting buttons on my console that controls volume, next track, pause, etc. the custom software im writing uses directx directinput to poll button presses on the usb gamepad, it is a very simple and well-working solution. i love usb now

Man, this thing is great. The cord is long enough to move it around in the car. I dont see why you would want it wireless, then ya either gotta charge it or change the batteries.
A few pics of the new thumbpad.

Here's what I meant about the clip fitting on my shiftknob. Works perfectly to enter a destination address while I'm stopped. =)

Thanks =)
I might bondo the screen, but first on my list of priorities is getting the damage fixed from being sideswiped, so the project is kinda on hold until that's settled. =(
Next on the to-do list for the carputer is resolving some minor electrical items such as amp turn-on delay, installing fuses, etc. Once I get to the point where I can bolt the computer into the dash, I'll be able to put the console bezel back, and then I'll know whether or not I'll bondo the screen.
Edit: That glidepoint you mounted came out real nice, can't wait to see how you mount the keyboard.. If I actually had a real armrest I might attempt it as well.. lol

Damn, EB online charges shipping and tax... I thought online was not taxed unless you lived in the same state.

Same state as any outlet. EB probably has outlets in a lot of states.
