how about this as a cool mic.

http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?...pp4_1&pid=8404

It is a noise cancelling mic made just for the car. It has a standard 3.5mm head phone jack. It is flexiable so you can move it near you mouth and would be ace for the car enviroment.

The best part is it only costs £20. What do you guys think?

What are you planning on use it with? If you are planning on using it with a computer you'd better make sure that it has a standard 1/8" plug. It sounds like it's phone specific. I have the SE T616 and it does not have a standard plug input.

it plugs into a box of tricks that does the thinking and that takes a standard head phone input that the PC would take, I know this for sure as I've had one before.

I also think the 'box of tricks' actually does the noise cancellation. I *think* to 'qualify 'as a stand alone noise-cancelling microphone, there needs to be at least 2 seperate microphone elements within a single device (to compare sounds in real time and flush out the ones it thinks aren't primary). This is essentially what array microphones are used for. Correct me if I'm wrong.
