Need Help - Yukon Denali HU w/ OBD II and camera

Sorry for the double post, but this fits here too:

I need some help with my Yukon Denali project. I just bought a 2005, and am looking at the following:

1. Carputer running OBD II S/W (already have the S/W) have laptop, but wonder if there is a better solution or a small form factor PC that fits in my center console or similar?

2. Interface to the HU. I have the stock GM Nav screen, which is OK, and I'll stick with. I need a VSI-GM2 Pac moduel or similar? Advice?

3. Input advice - external mouse or can I rig the Nav unit's touch screen?

4. Camera - I was looking for a FLIR, but cost gets out of control. Found a Cadillac camera on e-bay, but it is $1,495. I was looking for something a lot cheaper.

5. Any other ideas???

Thanks in advance,

Anders

If you're going to fit something in your center console, you're likely going to be hacking ad cutting. There are people who's PCs are mounted in armrests and center consoles. Use the SEARCH function and see what others have done.
The two commonly used form factors that people use are miniITX and Shuttle, both for their compact size. NanoITX is an even smaller formfactor, but it's not available to the public yet, as far as I know.

Does the headunit have AUX inputs? CD-changer inputs?

Check that link. That may very well be what you're referring to, or something similar.

It's theoretically possible to hack your Nav setup's integrated touchscreen, but do you have the knowledge, experience, time, patience and resources to do that? I certainly don't.
use an external mouse. There's wireless stuff out there for convenience.

If your NAV system has a composite video input, you can go with any security camera with teh same input.

Oh, and if you do lick a frozen metal object, be sure to take lots of pics so we can be wholly amused.
