Sweet - worked first time!

Got my order from Digikey today, including the Grayhill encoder. Using the circuit & software in my post above, I get "CW rotation," "CCW rotation," and "button pressed" events from the encoder via the parport.

W00t!

On a related note, I absolutely detest soldering.

And where do you find the grip handle?
I was thinking to hack the cigar lighter one, but if there is a site (shipping to italy) wich sells this items...

@rubicon: congratulations for your volume project!

Frigor,

As you might have seen on my gallery post, I just used the stock knobs that came with my radio. You can generally use anything that's an encoder though... A griffin powermate is the same.

I picked up the mouse for you, BTW. Let me know if you still want it.

Doesn't get any easier than that.

Anyone know if this is still sold anywhere? I want to have volume control where my lighter is and if there is a pre-made solution I would love to go that route.

Thanks

EDIT: http://www.trossenrobotics.com/store...t-Encoder.aspx $36 How would you incorporate such a small knob into a lighter spot?
