PowerMate for Windows
Current version of the PowerMate driver for Windows 98SE, ME, 2000 and XP. Version 1.5.3 provides improved performance for the Click & Rotate and Long Click functions. Also, adds several minor fixes and improvements.

I guess that beta driver is now not beta.

It does solve the click and hold issues, you need still to manual install the drivers though.

Also, I only had detection problems with my Black Powermate. My Silver one acted differently.
