Has anyone tested this with Frodoplayer?
Since Frodo uses WMP in the background, does it work?

Aight, just checking. I'm trying to upgrade my CarPC for the 5th time now.
I'm stuck between simple and complicated.
The more stuff I add, the cooler and more features, but also more maintainance and troubles sometimes.

Have you checked out the Keyspan Media Remote?
It's a small IR remote with 17 keys, nicely laid out. Bottom two keys on photo are Cycle (alt-tab in Windows?) and Menu.
The IR receiver connects via a USB port on your computer or a powered USB hub. There are two models, the older Media Remote and the newer Express Remote. $20 and $30 respectively on Amazon at the moment, including a rebate. Both use the same driver, but the Express receiver can also be plugged into the USB port of an Airport Express with no driver, and it becomes a dedicated iTunes remote.
When not connected via APEx, the button actions can be remapped on a PC or Mac. You can also use a regular IR remote with the receiver, if the remote can control a JVC VCR.

True. But if the RF remotes aren't satisfactory, perhaps IR remotes would be more useful. There seems to be much more variety in IR remotes. (I'm not using a PC, so I don't know whether Girder works with IR interfaces. On a Mac, IR is much easier to deal with.)

what do you mean not satisfactory? reception wise?
so far, i used the airclick for WMP. it works decently well. i wish for more functionality but not bulkiness. i'm satisfied with the airclick hardware. just not the software

But infrared needs "line of sight", In a car that isn't always easy to do. Especialy if someone in the back seat wants to use the keyboard. Always trying to make sure that it's pointing at the reciever is a pain.
Has anyone used one of these? They have bluetooth

Griffin airclick
To revive a bit of a dead horse
I bought one of these when I saw it in the local apple store and what a disappointment......I figured the software would be smarter !!!
Has anyone got it to work properly ?

haha you have impeccable timing. I *JUST* finished the winamp plugin for airclick last nite
unzip the file to c:\program files\griffin technology\airclick\plugins
kill airclick.exe and restart it.
play/pause: hit button to pause/unpause. hit and hold to start play
next: next track
prev: prev track
volume up: volume up 5%
volume down: volume down 5%
Let me know if you think of any improvements that need to be made

ok that is impeccable timing
I am going to install in a second or two
does this mean that the airclick will work with all winamp based front ends ?
I will find out myself soon enough....

ok it controls winamp no problem
but not the other stuff as expected.
I posted on girder but no one replied
I really like the hardware
but the software is not quite what was expected ....
your winamp help is much appreciated
cant the same principle be applied to frodo / centrafuse ? as you used with winamp

Warpper for Krystar's Winamp Airclick plug-in
Customizable keypress wrapper for Airclick. You need both the original Airclick software and Krystar's Winamp plug-in. Just install, run and right click on the MCB systray icon. Read the readme.txt for more information.
Enjoy...
