I just bought the Jensen remote off ebay for $18. I will let you know how it works when I get it.

i bought a USB reciever off of ebay. It looked home made but definitly was the smallest. The Jensen has decent range but i ran the wires and mounted it directly to the steering wheel collum

Yup.
Search for RC10. Kind of finniky with LIRC(but I haven't tested other remotes). However I can say that it works. Search for the circuit I've used with it.

So do any of these work pretty seamlessly with Girder + FrodoPlayer?

I refuse to use the pioneer controller. It looks so crappy. I use my stock controls instead with a SWIX IR controller.

I have the Blaupunkt r/c from a previous HU. Can I use it to control other equipment - i.e. is there a IR receiver that's not linked to a carputer?

Can someone please help me out with this issue?

Will the Jensen remote work with this IrDA receiver? http://cgi.ebay.es/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1

Someone just told me that what I need is a IR receiver, not a IrDA... is that true?

Thnx
