programming for Kenwood remote

After I recently finished my carPC I started looking for a way to change tracks without hitting the next track button on screen. I came across the SB sound cards with remote and even considered the ATi wonder remote II, but both of those seem a little over kill for my needs. So I was wondering what it would take to get my computer to recognize the signal from my head units remote. I under stand I will need an IR reciever of some sort and programming that will understand the signals. Can you gurus please point me in the right direction.

Thanks.
