I was looking for ages to find a really small keyboard to fit in a custom overhead console.
This one was ideal, can get in USB or PS2

"virtually indestructable" keyboards suck *** too. They might be flexible but you pay for it when ur tryin to type consistently and miss keys

yeah, in a car where you don't have any good flat surfaces to set the keyboard on like you would on a desk, the flexible keyboard seems worthless. too bad, because it seems like it would be good to chuck around in the car without worrying about breaking it or popping keys out
oh, and lostreception... that's a different keyboard :-P
the only problem with this one is that the control box is at the top, instead of at one end, so there's no real way to roll the thing up, which is part of the selling point of a flexible keyboard

I use one of the flexible keyboards in my car and even though it is almost the same width as a regular keyboard I just roll it up and stick it in the glove compartment (which in a mustang is not that big). As far as typing in the car, i've found that it is easier than my old "rigid" keyboard. I just lay it on one of my legs and type away and it stays in place. The rigid one I used was a pain because usually it was hard to find a surface where i could lay it stable enough to type on it. Anyway, I really like my flexible keyboard and I got it from CompUSA for $20. Just my $.02.

Yeah I know I saw that after i bought mine. Oh well. But chances of my typing at night as slim to none and I don't think i will need it to be illuminated since I don't need to look at the keyboard for the placement of the keys. Guess i will just take a few days and strictly type on it to get a feel for it.

Here's the one I just got off ebay. Same one posted above from Tiger at $30. True with shipping mine is $31, but not sure how much extra Tiger charges on top for shipping. This one looks to be about the same size as that flimsy one rolled up but not as thick.

the el-610 is awsome...about the size of a laptop keyboard & backlit blue....I've got one installed in each front visor....they are the best keyboard I have ever had for in car use....& I've tried many others.....If you use your keyboard frequently at night nothing beats it....
