The whole idea of using the adapter is to keep the headunit for most of the routine tasks (volume, audio source, amplifier, security, keyless entry etc) people do in the car. If you plan to use touchscreen only the device won't make anything to you.

The 04 TL will work but there's a bug that needs to be fixed. The HU is having problem switching to CD-C mode. As I was checking around the forum at indashpc.org..it seems like only the TL or Accord that has navi will have this issue.

car2pc toyota HU repeated ST ST ST

Hi,
First of all i'm new here !

I've got car2pc for Toyota, connected ok but not detected as CDC.
For some reason grom_console.exe crashesh on the laptop.
But hyperterminal work and shows me repeated (zero)ST(zero)ST....
Winamp plugin also seems to get the STop command, starts to play and stops in a less than a second.

What i've noticed is that at the moment i turn the key one position(don't know it's name) the COM appears and starts to send STs.
That's EVEN when the audio is turned OFF. Any solution to this problem?
The HU model is w58814.

I've managed to get the adaptor version libusbhu under linux and hacked
test program, it is VR017

Thanks

Sorry for late reply, I do not monitor all threads
When did you get the device ?
We had some compatibility issues and will need to send a firmware update.

Thanks. I've got the device by the end of august.
According to indashcp support the firmware update must be sent via mail
already. I wonder is it possible to get just the firmware and flash the chip.

Sorry about the threadjack, but on a similar note:
Any luck on getting the adapter to work with StreetDeck? I'm using a stock 2004 4Runner headunit. I'm also more than willing to "experiment", especially if it's going to help others.

If you can think and post how the plugin should work in SD it will be great. I never used SD myself so not sure what exactly you want this plugin to do...

For me, as complete a music function integration of OEM head unit buttons to the corresponding Streetdeck function would be great. Since head units differ greatly though letting the user match head unit button to his choice of any streetdeck button from a list in the plugin menu would be very handy as well. Maybe even a steering wheel mode toggle threw of all installed inputs on streetdeck as well.

Basically make the OEM head function like a universal programmable remote with detailed button list for streetdeck that would take into account variable like mentioned above where the head unit picks modes with separate buttons but the steering wheel scrolls threw the available modes with the same button.

ID3 display on the radio?

Hi!

I just read all the posts in this thread

I'm looking for a device that:
- accepts an USB stick with MP3s on it;
- decodes and sends the audio to the car's CD player so that I can hear it;
- also sends the ID3 info (song title, at least);
- can be controlled with the steering wheel buttons.

I found two possibilities, for now: the SoundFly with RDS FM modulator (no steering wheel controls), or a CD CHANGER-MP3 adapter (without text display).

Jbors, did you manage to make the adapter display ID3 info on the HU? I have a European Toyota Corolla from 2004, with CD-TEXT-enabled CD radio.

Can I find this adapter somewhere, or is there a webpage with some info?

Thank you.
