please check out the web-site, it has a few (2+2) 12v inputs, that only detects voltage presence above/below ~10v

but otherwise no, I assume your resistor network is already supplied with 12v , and you have to disconnect it, so it does not inject +12 volt to the resistor network.
or in other words - "remove pullup resistor"

Rowan: This is because I bought few hundred of the 16C745, and some JW's, having them in stock, I had no need to "upgrade".

Also: having a flashable device would not be any "better" for this project than OTP

AlCapone, after reading this thread then following your link.......I just have to say you are perfect for this forum......Crazy $hit on your website. Do you really need 3TB of storage? And do you really notice any difference with water cooled pc's? I mean its still probably noisy with the big fans on that radiator.

3 years and only 48 posts

Anyways, project looks good. Keep up the mad scientist work!

it was more silent, and fancy, but these are old pictures too, I have another cooled room for the computers, so I am using fan's now like everybody else, and cables thru a wall. - clean and no noise, (and 15K RPM SCSI drives makes lots of noise no matter what cooling I use)

as you see I need time to do other stuff as well - it's significantly fewer of them that are described on my site, but my aerial-photo firm is one of them, much technology stashed into the helicopters, digital video transmission system, camera control plus much more.
