help a newb out

ok i just bought a xenarc 700tsv from someone and i can't get it to work at all.

i've tried searching but maybe im missing something. here are my problems.

1. the screen doesn't come on at all
2. i installed the touchkit software but after that im lost

can anyone point me in the right direction. im still building my carpc so i tried hooking this up to my desktop and it doesn't work.

After going over the basics (making sure you're using the proper power adapter, checking polarity, checking cable connections, etc.), read here.
Maybe you'll find your answer by searching for it.

that didn't help. i have the screen plugged into the wall. the green light comes on and flashes. i have the usb plugged into the mouse port, and the pin connector plugged into the monitor port. when i turn the screen on, the green light is solid, i here that the computer has found new usb hardware but i get nothing on the screen.

again, maybe im missing something that is completely obvious. i mean shouldn't the screen come on even if the software isn't installed?

tried changing the function of the screen, say from VGA to RCA?

i figured it out....im an idiot. 5v WILL NOT power something that requires 12v. hahahahaha

note to self, no more electrical projects at 2am.

Just be glad you are not trying to power a 5v device with 12v.
Been there. Done that. And let out the magic smoke out of it..
