Well, this brought back a thought, and hunt through my massive archive of files from my travels around the internet.

I remebered a thing called "Direct Pad Pro", which is a directx driver for many different console controllers:

Quote:
Do you have a joystick or gamepad that you just love, but isn't available
for your PC? Are the awful PC-compatible gamepads making you long for the days
of the Atari 2600 and your beloved Wico-stick? Do you miss your "superergo" Jaguar
joypad? If so, the DirectPad Pro is for you!

DirectPad Pro is a combination hardware/software interface that allows Windows 95
to utilize Sega, Atari, Jaguar, SNES, and other console joysticks and keypads on
their PCs. All of the interfaces require minimal wiring and operate through a free
parallel port. Any Windows DirectX compatible game can use these interfaces
automatically!

Not sure if this works on XP though :P

I remeber hacking apart a psx, and using the controller port to build a controller interface, plus a gamesave-card reader!

I used to have a SNES type controller for my PC. In fact, I saw a thread about it on MP3 something .com.

Not quite sure if I understand you, but I know of this gamepad made by Gravis that resembles a SNES controller.

No no, you guys are way off... go here:

http://www.retrousb.com/usb.html

This guy takes original gamepads (including Super NES pads), rips out the original cabling, and adds in custom USB wiring. So in the case of what you want, its a SNES cable that plugs directly into a USB port. I've ordered several pads from this guy in the past and they are all brilliant. They work flawlessly.

That reminds me, there's a thread here somewhere of a guy looking for a gamepad that looks like an old video game controller. You should show the link to him. Do you guys remember those controllers?
